Abstract
Since production systems constantly need to prevent efficiency decline, and one of the main components of maintaining efficiency is the proper implementation of the quality control system. Therefore, in production systems, it is essential to integrate production scheduling, maintenance and repair planning, and quality control. In this research, an attempt has been made to present processing times in an integrated system by presenting an advanced model of single-machine production scheduling with sequence-dependent setup times. This model has been modeled with two objectives: achieving uniform production or minimizing the difference between the maximum and minimum production of a specific product in a production period, and minimizing the total costs involved in the production process, including setup costs, product production, shortages, inventory, inspection of manufactured items, and maintenance costs (including preventive maintenance and major repairs). The results of implementing the model in a case study showed that, first, there is a completely direct relationship between the volume of manufactured items for each product in each period and the number of non-conforming items in each period. Second, planning for preventive maintenance and repairs is less expensive than major repairs. Also, the number of non-conforming items in each period for each product in different periods is affected by the timing of production and maintenance and repairs of products. So that the production manager should pay attention to the processing times in planning the production of these products.
